Can anybody tell me if bacon crisps are suitable for vegetarians? There's nothing in the list of ingeredients which says otherwise and as I'm not in the UK there's no V so say if it's suitable or not.

Like Walkers smoky bacon?
I think so coccinelle, I think the flavouring is just E numbers.

Yes, that's what I thought tony. ummmm the make isn't Walker's but it's those kinds of crisps.
Yes, I know walkers are suitable for veggies. Be careful with cheese flavoured crisps though.
Watch out for the red food colouring cochineal too - from wiki on cochineal

`"E120" or even "natural colouring" refer to a dye that is derived from an insect.
Why is that ummmm ?.
In the UK at least, if a product is X flavour it need not contain X but if it says it is X flavourED, it MUST contain whatever that X is.Have you not looked on the manufacturer's website?
I think I read it on here so had a quick google..

//Fascinatingly, Walker's cheese and onion crisps are suitable for vegetarians, while their mature cheddar crisps are not. One might assume that all the space for onions is filled up with rennety non-vegetarian cheese powder, but in fact the presence of vegetarian cheese powder in the cheese and onion variety was something of a victory for the Vegetarian Society, which awarded the crisp with its Imperfect World prize in 2003, prompting Walker's to change its recipe. "People assume," says Chris Olivant of the Vegetarian Society, "that because most cheese on the shelves of British supermarkets is now vegetarian [90%, in fact], cheese flavouring in crisps will be too. But it's not".//
