What and when was the last Big Priced winner of the National? I'm talking of higher odds than say 33/1

I'm thinking of backing an outsider but am I wasting my money?.......possibly going to waste it on a shorter priced one anyway.

I drew Arbor Supreme in the sweep at work but looking at it's history it'll need a ladder to get over the fences. But it is 100/1 ???

mon mome won at 100/1 in 2009
Yep and I had a tenner on it!
Foinavon in '67 @100-1. My old mum had a £1 ew on it.

So 2009, i'd forgotton about that, how long since the previous biggy?
I'm working out the odds on the chances of a big priced winner coming in.

Was thinking of backing Seabass as the horse with the 1st female jockey to win. It's going to happen some time but not this year I think/hope.
i can still remember when Foinavon came home at 100- 1 .

But Sandy, that's relying on 39 other horses falling ??
Almost all the other horses in Foinavon's race fell or were brought down.

Same year Scotland trounced the World Champions
As a general rule, whatever I get in the sweep I tend to put a quid each way on too.
if i was going to have a bet on a big outsider tomorrow i would have hello bud at 100/1...he finished 5th in 2010 and then went on to win the becher chase..
always right 33/1
We were saving up to get married and agreed not to waste money on betting on the National. I felt sorry for the horse being 100/1 so on the quiet I persuaded my mum to put one shilling each way on Foinavon as I was too young to go into the bookies. I admitted having the bet when I met Mr BD later that evening and his response was "Why didn't you put a quid on it".
Killyglen might be worth a bet tomorrow.
Silver Birch won at 33-1 a few years ago. Braw wee winner for me :-)

I remember the Foinavon win, just.

Seems to be a biggish winner every 3-4 years so we're due one, forget form do the date maths!!, think i'll go for 50p EW on the outsider ha...........and £20 on Chicago Grey!
well i hope you all have a return on your bets tomorrow...and all those magnificent horses return to their stables unscathed...
