Pretty sure that tin says 30 gm (that's a good ounce). You could 30mg up your nose!

12ml smash to 150ml water? X
20mg or 20 grammes is roughly 1 ounce and 1 rounded tablespoon is roughly an ounce too so maybe one and a hlaf tablespoons of smash to 150ml of water. You ought to be able to gauge whether you've got it right by the consistency of the smash
This is the recipe I used to use in my uni days (many years ago).

1 1/2 cup of milk
1/2 cup of water
2 dessert spoons of butter
Bring to the boil and add
1 Cup of smash ( add more if too runny)
If you do all that Graham-W why dont you just make real mash?
I do nowadays. Much better.
I was talking about when I was a lazy student.
Does it matter, it's Smash? Polycell wallpaper paste is just as good.

Seriously if buying packet mash buy Mr Mash

you can also get frozen mash..........and I have also noticed you can buy big bags of ice cubes - for those who have forgotten the recipe!
Those ice cubes can be difficult, you know.
I know they go runny when you cook them
i always thought that 30mg = 30ml; but i've never been good at science so maybe i'm completely wrong?
I buy big bags of ice cubes.......................
Frozen chopped onions are ace!
I had a craving for smash when I was pregnant with my daughter. It always, without fail, came back up...
aries: well, mg is weight and ml is volume - so not really comparable. But for water, 1 ml weighs 1 gram (not milligram)
Didn't know they still made it. Are the tin martians still around?

I liked them when I was young, but then again I also liked the Michelin man.
I grew up sane.

I did think that a mg =ml but wouldn't be the first time I was wrong :)

It's my guess that you need a scale as well as a measuring cup/jug.

I get great difficult with metric calculations because my mathematical education involved pounds, ounces; pints and gallons. e.g. A half pound steak and chips, with a pint of beer :-)
