Does a shop selling Hallal meat in the uk have to show a sign saying so,ie a kebab shop etc?

They do, but they don't have to. My local butcher was buying chicken breasts in from Rotterdam and although the box said Halal, he had no idea that's what it was. Many of the supermarkets sell Halal lamb and chicken too, and it's not labelled as such. Many people prefer it as it is a sweeter taste.

I was searching around for some, sith, as we had Muslim friends coming for a special meal - little did I realise how easily I could source it close to home!

Thanks for the replies folks,just been talked into becoming a veggie as i dont agree with the way the animal is killed for Hallal,its just my own preference and nothing personal.
