I remember as a child, about 10-15 years ago, there was an ice lolly which was made up of 3 different shaped fruits. These were strawberry, lemon and orange i think.

Does anyone remember this and know the name it, and possibly who it was made my?

rowntrees pastilles did one, also there was one shaped like a rocket...possibly called a blaster??

The rocket one was called Zoom.

I remember the lolly you are on about, but cannot remember the name.

But you might find this site interesting if you were an eighties baby like me.

It actually brought a tear to my eye....... it doesn't mention your lollies but does mention those cider ones!

Ok, own up ! Who used to pretend that they felt drunk after eating a cider ice-lolly, (usually because you were the only one who'd bought one - everyone else had bought those plastic cone-things with the bubblegum at the bottom) ?

Screwballs?

Did anyone's mum have 'posh' ice cream?  i.e. one of those Oysters things.  Our neighbour used to get them.

Or did anyone's mum say "You're not having one from the van there's plenty in the freezer!".  So you'd wander round with a cruddy choc ice/ long icicle thing whilst your mates had the 99's.

Surely I wasn't the only one?

nice to see the little conversation we're all having, but does anyone remember the name??

They were not fruit pastills, or rocket ones (called 'zoom' in the UK), they were not opal fruits or starburst.

Please, someone must remember?

Can't remember the one, but did anybody else get told by their parents that when the bells of the ice cream van were ringing, it meant they had sold out!!
Nope, but when I was 4 I broke three bones in my foot chasing the ice cream van wearing jelly shoes - I did a triple flip off the curb.  I wanted a Kermit the Frog lolly and he gave me the wrong one........

I THINK IT WAS CALLED BOOM (no iaint talking about zoom) it began with B anyway

My dad used to tell us that it wasn't the ice cream man this time, it was the butcher! We believed him for years!
they were called CIDERBARRELLS  and were absolutely fabulous

It was an Opal Fruit ice lolly.

Question Author

are you sure this is right?

I cant find any other information about it and its really annoying me now.

Sorry to answer such an old thread, but if anyone does come here again the answer is a Boomer. I think they were released sort of as a rival to Fruit Pastille lollies - but in the end they couldn't compete, so went to refreshment heaven with TAB-Clear. Around in the early nineties, they were, as stated above, three water ice fruits set out like a kebab, three seperate lumps in the shape of their relevant fruit, i.e. orange/lemon/strawberry. As I remember they sort of had the consistency of the water ice you get in a Twister lolly.

Sorry for answering six yeas too late but, well :) !
I believe the ice lolly you are thinking of was called Boomy.
I believe the ice lolly you are looking for was called Boomy.
I remember this. It was called “boon” I believe.
