I don't see why not.
Yes, you just need to thaw them when you need them, otherwise they'll be soggy. Why don't you make a bread and butter pudding now, instead?

cause i made one last night :)
I can't see why not bednobs. Give it a go .. open freeze on a flat tray till frozen then transfer to a freezer bag or box.
If you've got plenty of freezer space it would be ok, but it is a bit of a waste of valuable space if you needed it for say, expensive frozen stuff.
.. Or just freeze the bread and whizz up as needed bednobs .
Hmm, bread and butter pud, yummy!
So... if you left them in the cupboard, they'd dry out? Unique concept... I wonder how they make croutons?
If you leave them in a cupboard without drying them, they go furry - I know!

wouldn't they y go mouldy in the cupboard clannad? Aren't croutons deep fried bits of bread? Are you suggesting i deepfry breadcrumbs?
i whizz up all my leftover bread and freeze it as crumbs. i don't bother thawing it out, just crumble it into, or over, whatever it is i need them for.
i don't open freeze the crumbs, just put a portion-ish amount into small plastic bags and freeze them. they squeeze into all the small spaces in the freezer. very useful.
Ah,
I thought they would stick together ethandron.
well they kind of do, but not in a solid lump which you'd have to chisle a bit off. they very easily crumble in your fingers to put on top of, say, a fish pie or something. i find it very useful to have these small bags of them in the freezer ready to use.
I do the same as ethandron..use them a lot,its so easy.

ok, just bought some freezer bags so will give it a go
i freeze slices, and put them straight in the toaster, so dont see why not
look up a recipe for Apple Charlotte.
Entirely delicious. Uses quantities of breadcrumbs.
Also, the very finest Christmas puds are made with breadcrumbs, absolutely no flour at all.
If you hate heavy soggy Christmas puds, try a recipe with only breadcrumbs - it will be light and almost fluffy. Not difficult, not expensive.
well you can freeze bread cant you ? obviously bread is the same as breadcrumbs ?
Oh dear..do we have a feudette on our hands? It appear Goldenbolls has taken umbrage.
