A couple of chat rooms I've visited only accept you IP email address, I don't see why that can't be made more universal.

I don't use chat rooms but I do play dominoes on line and I believe that conversation sometimes on there that people are not telling the truth .You have an idea sometimes that they are just talking a load of rubbish. I never say where I live I just say near .You just have to take people as you find them .I did meet 2 very good friends through Dominoes whom I have coresponded with for nearly 5 years now.But 1 in Australia and the other in the south of England .There are a lot of genuine people but still a lot of the not so genuine.

I think that too D9, I have been criticized on occasions about my photo....errrmmm, could be they don't like it..lol
but the ones that do the criticizing hide behind guises, as I said...nothing to hide :-)

You are right bobby but as you are aware there are some even on this answerbank that are just waiting to pounce on the first thing that is said out of place . Then it is full scale war. I never get involved. I may give my opinion but that is all .I often wonder if these people would say the same things face to face.

D97 it is up to you whether you want to chat or not . As I say you can sometimes judge by the first of conversation what type of conversation that person is looking for so I just play the game out and move on. If for example you are asked your age straight away I just ignore but if I think that the person might be out for just causual conversation I will just say I am retired and that is the truth. Then it is up to them if they still want to play.

I must admit my user name does sound like I'm trying to hide something, it wasn't my intention it just seemed like a good idea at the time.
My real name is Nick btw, from Somerset.

I don't think it's as much the username Nick, as it is people like me who are happy (some aren't and that is their shout) to put my own photo up then get sarky remarks from those who never have..
I am not on any other chat site but if I were, I would not hide behind anything :-)
