Does anyone know how many calories I should count for a 1000 milligram capsule of cod liver oil? I am sure I should count it, but don't know how many.

Thanks so much pixi. I thought it would be about a hundred. So I am not having as many calories as I thought. (Sigh of relief) Dieting is very difficult isn't it?
Starby........if you are counting the calories in a capsule of codliver oil, then you are going about dieting in the worst possible way.

What do you suggest then sqad? I thought you had to count everything you ate.
starbuckone - you say dieting is difficult so maybe you could think about a long term change of eating habits rather than a diet. eat sensibly, exercise more and stop stressing about calories - hope whatever you choose to do works for you though.

Starby....a whole industry is making a fortune out of "dieting" and AB has a thread and a sticky which went on endlessly about dieting.

Diets don't work.

Eat the food that you normally do but in smaller portions and take exercise, but anyway.....why do you want to diet?..........cosmetic reasons? health reasons?
just as a matter of interest - isn't it true that if you take on board say 2,000 calories a day and I take on board 2,000 calories a day, because we will process those at a different rate, they will have a different effect on our weight loss? Any answers out there?
As Carmalee said up there^^^

Diets screw people up big time, you lose the weight you wanted to lose then come off the diet to put it all back on + a few extra pounds each time you do it, Diets just screw up your metabolism. and turn nice curvy ladies into whales!

Sqad my reason for dieting is that the spare tyre around my middle is getting really uncomfortable, especially when I sit down - it sort of folds up somehow or other. At the moment I am a short, fat (old) woman so cosmetic reasons don't apply. Just discomfort. Also my trousers are getting too tight. It's either diet or buy some new clothes and I am too stingy for that. I am not paying any of the dieting industry any money (see previous remark) and am still eating the same food but counting it. In actual fact, it does involve what you said about smaller portions.
RATTER is correct...AB has added a new section....Weight Loss and dietiing.....just take a look at the contributors and come back in a years time and you will almost certainly find the same contributors.
starbuckone - have you thought of taking up pilates? it's a gentle exercise and absolutely brilliant for strengthening core muscles and trimming the waistline - gives you a whole body work out too
Starby...OK thenthat is fine....but calorie counting and to the extent that you are counting the calories in a capsule....is nonsense.
