can I substitute cream for fromage frais

I'm cooking a cajun chicken dish which requires double cream. as I'm cutting down at the moment and trying to be healthy, can I substitute the cream for fromage frais or something less calorific!

I can't see why not jubie .. it just wont be so rich & creamy.
usually yes....but it is more likely to split because of the lower fat content... if you do blend a little cornflour into it first about half a teaspoom to a couple of tablespoons of fromage frais.... the 0% fat greek yoghurt often works better as it is thicker and creamier
what about low fat greek yogurt or creme fraiche instead?

which would be the best out of greek yogurt, creme fraiche or fromage frais?
for me greek yogurt but that's my taste

I use the greek yogurt to make a dip so I know I like that. I think I'll try that.

Yoghurt can change the taste of a dish. If I dont have cream I use milk and some cornflour to thicken it up. Same consistency but with fewer calories
I don't really know about calorific content but I tend to use creme fraiche or Elmlea light.
I always use half fat cream fraiche for anything that needs cream. Usually works a treat (Sainsburys do a half fat one)

I wouldnt use yoghurt as a replacement, it doesn't taste very nice as cajun chicken, use low fat creme freche instead
