Whilst shopping in Waitrose this morning I came across Pine Berries for the first time.
They were priced @ £3.99 for a small punnet but was not going to pay that price for them.
They look like under ripe small Strawberries. What do they taste like ?
Anyone ever bought them ?

Have Googled Pineberries Ratter, interesting reading about this cultivar from Holland.
I have never seen them before and was wondering if anyone else has ever eaten them.
Hello, I bought some of these last week from Waitrose. They are hellishly expensive for what they are, but my curiosity got the better of me. Nothing special, wouldn't buy them again. Quite sweet, but sort of watery as well in flavour. Prefer English strawberries when they are at their best (and not the ones you can get in the shops at the moment). Will wait a bit longer for the real ones!

Thanks chokkie for your info, as you say they are expensive and by all accounts not worth the money.
