Have raisins always been really huge and squishy (like wingless, fat, blue bottles) or have 'they' changed them somehow? I thought they used to be like slightly bigger currants and that sultanas were the horrible, squishy ones. Thanks.

It depends if you buy cooking raisins or 'snacking' raisins -the snacking kind are bigger and softer. Sultanas are made from white grapes I think and raisins black grapes.
And you can get large raisins.... I bought some for my daughter and they were huge!!
there are many different types of raisins - depending on the grape it was.

They were cooking ones (wanted currants but the local shop didn't have any). They were huge and squishy and vile. Must remember to order currants from Asda this week.
I guess it depends on how much you dry the grape out.
Are bluebottles squishy ? What do they taste like ?

OG - you know when you just get an idea in your head and it stays there? I had to pick the raisins out of my cakes, yeuch, just the thought of it.
