I am trying to think of a game to entertain approx 10 kids of varying ages (6-16) at a Halloween party.
I did a treasure hunt last year and was trying to think of something similar, but different, if you know what I mean?!
Don't want to do bobbing for apples etc - I would like to do something unusual.

All suggestions gratefully received.

we used to do a mystery horror thing where you would tell a horror story in the dark and we had boxes and jars filled with things to illustrate the story and you had to put your hand in them - e.g. the story would have a bit about someone losing an eye and you would have a jar with a pickled in it or maybe a bit about some brains and you had a jar with mushed up jelly or something. We also had a game called treacle donuts where you would tie donuts covered in treacle or something else sticky from varying lengths of string and then suspend this in the air and you had a competition to see who could eat theirs first without using their hands.
Flap the Ghost. Cut out ghost shapes (about 50cm long) from thin white paper, split the group into 2 teams each team with a folded up newspaper. Have a start and end point, about the length of your room. First person in each team 'flaps' the ghost with the newspaper until it reaches the finish line than flaps it back to the next team member who then does the same. First team to use all their players and get their ghost back first is the winner. The thinner the paper, the more 'flappy' and erratic the ghost will be!
Wrap the mummy. All you need is some loo paper,teams of two, one person is the mummy and the other has a pre-agreed time to wrap them, the team with the most neatly and completely wrapped mummy wins!
I remember that game annie, we called it something to do with Napoleon, as the story was told we passed the glass jars from hand to hand, this is Napoleon's eyeball, this is Napoleon's gut (cooked pasta) - it was gruesome.

These are all good ideas thanks.

It is hard to find something that suits such a wide age range - thats why the treasure hunt worked so well last year.
think a treasure hunt is a brilliant idea - you could also do;
* wrap the mummy
* a halloween version of pin the tail on the donkey (i.e nose on the witch etc)
* halloween pass the parcel
* get everyone to draw their best halloween piccies & winner gets a prize
* blind mans buff
* hide & seek

have fun ! :)
Sounds fun!
We have a Halloween party in our after school club every year, things we have done include the usual apple bobbing, treasure hunts etc. The one the kids (3-15) loved was a massive box of spaghetti all covered so they didn't know what was in it, and we had little plastic spiders and bugs in it for them to fish out, like 'worm jelly' even the older ones loved it, the one's who could stomach finding something got a treat!
We also love blindfolding them and hanging mini ring doughnuts on string and giving them a chance to get them with no hands. Cannot wait for Halloween, the kids love it!!
