5 year old with broken leg

any suggestions how to keep a hyper 5 year old (my grandson ) amused when he is plastered to the thigh !!

Does any of the family have a Nintendo DS or could you borrow one from the neighbours? It's a handheld games machine. That should keep him occupied.
oh poor lad! Games consoles are good. Arts and crafts? does he like making things like lego or mechano?
Snap or some card game.

paper mache depends if he is at all mobile?

only just got our of hospital, this is day 2...2 months to go.
aww poor thing! if he's usually active how about some games that involve his hands a lot, one could be where you make up a sequence and he has to copy it, e.g. you clap your hands, he copies, then you clap your hands then tap your head, he copies and keep going like this adding an action each time until one of you forgets, or you could take it in turns adding actions.
you could make musical instruments out of empty bottles and rice, pasta or lentils and start a band.
if allowed to you could get him to decorate his cast with felt tips. hope he's not too bored!

that lot should keep him busy for 10mins... Hes got a DS and hes quite bright with a laptop (as most kids are these days) think he needs time to settle down not sure the reality of it has hit home yet
can he sit up to a table? if so you can make lots of easter treats like rice crispie chocolate cakes, and easter bicuits you can decorate them together
transformers dvds, ben 10 dvds or football on tv
