could any one tell me if a university grant is income based please reagarding benefits etc many thanks

Do you mean a student loan?

It certainly was when my son had all the paperwork which was 7 years ago.
If you mean is a student loan taking into account for purposes of means tested benefits then yes it is, but worse, even if you dont claim the lone the DWP will assume you have it and reduce any benefits on the basis that you have got the loan
you may get a grant in addition to your loan and yes it is means tested, not sure whther it takes benefits into account though!
i'm not sure you can get a student loan and benefits? i remember when i went back to college when i was 22 i worked part time and also received working tax credits, i was not able to apply for a student loan, tho i dont know what benefits your on etc etc,
