hi, i am in a situattion in that BT took an unortharised direct debit from my account, i have claimed that back using the indemnity claim. But when they took the money they also left some bank charges which i have requested that they pay, they keep saying they will give the details to the offline team and hey will get back to me which they never do this has been going on since september and i am still waiting i have writen them 2 letters sent statements and the only way that i knew to send these was because i rang them, i am now at the end of my teather and also due to people telling me they will take it off my account so i don't have to pay this bill i have incured charges on my bt account, can anyone tell me what i can do and is this illegal as they had my bank details from a previous bt account and there are no notes or evidence of me asking them to send a direct debit. also is there an easier way to get my charges back? thanks

I feel out of breath after reading that- 166 words in one sentence!

Have BT accepted they were fully at fault?

I'm not clear what the charges are. Have you incurred bank charges solely as a result of this? Or are there charges from BT because you have not paid their bill in full (on the basis you feel they owe you money)?
You could take your complaint to the Telecommunications ombudsman.

the bank charges are solely as a result of this, i have had charges from bt due to me not paying the bill fully but i have accepted them and they are separate.
some times someone will say that they (bt) are at fault, and then someone else will say it's not for them to say mainly the people in india just say anything to get you off the line, i have found.
Who did you claim the unauthorised DD back from?

If it was your bank, then they should have refunded the charges at the same time. You should deal with them rather than BT.

If it was BT then you are on more difficult ground and will probably have to fight for it.
