Hello, can i ask, can a un-employed woman with 1 child claim tax credits.
She receives all the usual benifits for herself and child, who is 10.

yes. the DWP does not usually pay Income Support for children included on a claim as Tax Credits should cover this element.
But is she working?
fill in an application form for tax credits and send it off
Sorry, I've just re-read the question. duh
Income Support does not now pay for children, if a child is to be claimed for then it is Child Tax Credits who pay.
You may be thinking of Working Tax Credits which is a totally different thing.
hi yeah child tax credits only tho, but also the child will get free school meals, tho she will have to apply for these.
The meals are only for people recieving just child tax credits. x
