it could be an infection, it could also be stress. try not to make him feel anxious about it

cazz is just giving some advice lou, best to take him to docs and see, that will be the only way you can tell if its an infection.

i didnt mean to sound ungratefull i was just saying .sorry
Thats ok, I'm sure you dont but every little tip on here is always given not knowing what the parent is like. Does he seem anxious? or has anything changed in his routine/lifestyle?
no need for apologies, I can understand that you are worried about him, see the doctor first to rule out any medical problems then look at any other reasons like
having problems at nursery or feeling stressed or anxious about something

thanks i will take him to the doctors
try and get a sample of wee to take with you, just in case the GP asks for one. otherwise it may need a return trip.

Good luck
is he starting big school this year. is he at nursery at the moment and everyone is talking about big school my friends little girl went through this around the same time last year and it was through worrying about big school.
mite be going down the wronbg road but always worth having a chat with him
poor lass, he's scared of you. you are making him nervous.
Usually a urine infection would come with a high temperature, infact in kids it is one of the things that will bring a high temperature consistently every 3/4 hours when the paracetamol wears off, and he might need to go more often or have pain, but the Dr will find this out, it still could be. Is he drinking a lot of milk or coke? or drinks with caffiene in? as this can relax the bladder and the sensation isn't as good, also constipation can affect bladder functioning. Encourage him to drink plenty of water or clear fluids. Hope he gets sorted, don't worry too much, it might help if you have a cotton with plastic coated underside dust mite cover on the mattress just in case, that way his bed won't be affected if he has an accident in the night & he won't realise theirs a plastic cover on.

My 4.5yrold boy still wets himself now and then. Even a couple of times in one day. It is because he forgets to go...

Or rather he gets so ingrossed in what he is doing he doesn't want to stop.

Unless it goes on for too long or he has an infection don't worry and don't make a fuss. Just remind him that he needs to go to the loo and that whatever he is doing will still be there when he gets back.
