The natural lifespan is about 8 years but I presume you are asked about cockatiels in captivity, which is anything from 15 to 25 - it all depend on if they are in an aviary or cage and on just how much exercise they enjoy. Most cockatiels (and budgies) die prematurely through parasitic worm infestations and in the case of cage ones, obesity.
Mine lived 21 years. She lived in a very large cage and was let out every day for at least 2 hours, so was able to exercise.
