i am father that was not there to put my name on the birth record my question is how do i go about getting my name on it the mother is willing to do it out of court but i do not have the knowledge of how to go about doing this

Go to the place where the birth was registered. The registrar will help you to do this as long as there is evidence that you are the dad, eg take the mother along and she can sign the declaration.
I am sorry to hear about your dog dying - I assume this is your reference to a 'late bitch'. Or am I missing something in your outlook towards women?

Goodsoulette has answered your question but it might help to download and complete the relevant forms before attending the register office. You certainly need form GRO185. You might need form 16. They're both available for download here:
