I want to take my 4 year old out tomorrow on a day trip but am not sure where! We live in Taunton, Somerset and would have to go either by train or bus. Does anyone have any suggestions?

Thanks

Hello! Well, we live in Honiton and I know that you can get a bus from Honiton to Taunton and vice versa, but I am afraid I don't know the number. From Honiton you can go by bus to Sidmouth on the coast. At the moment, they have the Folk Festival on, so it will be very busy, but also very interesting for you and your little one, ie jugglers, folk singers and dancers, limbo etc etc and of course, there is still the beach and the sea to enjoy. I should take a picnic if you decide to go there as all the cafes etc will be packed. Good luck!

hey thats a good idea, thanks!
Hey Joanne, its bit past it but I live in Taunton too. If you look on the back of the gazette every week Berrys advertise daytrips at really reasonable rates to lots of seaside destinations. Even as nice as Saunton and Woolacombe. If you get are gonna do it alot get yourself a railcard and go to Dawlish, it will cost you next to nothing after you have got one.
Paignton Zoo, Cricket st Thomas, Minehead are all places my kids love and we go by train or bus to all of them.
This is too late for your outing tomorrow but this is a really useful website for local outings. Just type in your post code and tick your preferred activity options and see what suggestions come up.
