Opening a lwp file

I have been sent an lwp extension file and can't open it. Have requested it be sent in a different format but the sender is unlikely to know what to do....is there any way I can open it??

advice needed asap please!!!.........

LWP files are Lotus Wordpro 96/97 files, if you go here and scroll down to LWP you'll see there is a download for a viewer, it seems to come from Lotus so should be alright but as always make sure your anti-virus is up and running.

Thanks for that. I tried to open the link but couldn't. Next tried to access other viewers from Google.....failed! Oh dear!
