Just out of curiosity, when could you back out of a wedding? Is the signing of the register the actual bit or is it when you say I do? If you said I do, then didn't sign the register, would that mean the marriage is not complete?

No, I'm not getting married!! I was just watching Emmerdale and wondered how far a wedding has to go before it's too late to turn back!
I think its the signing that seals the deal...used to be consumation years ago..
You have to sign the register to make it legal, however technically you also have to consummate the marriage. I don't know whether pre-marital "consummation" counts. If if it's not consummated, then the marriage can be annulled, which a declaration that the marriage was not legally valid in the first place (as opposed to divorcing, in which the marriage WAS valid).
could have saved myself a lot of money if we split up on the wedding night the,lol...

blessits only t.v,but if you are worried about it then dont do it.
