Leave you on read - it shows on your phone that they've read your message; however they haven't replied . (I assume.)

A person leaves a message on "read" because they can't be bothered to compose and type in a reply. 

That is a message in itself.  

Don't bother to follow it up - you will only make yourself look desperate.
