I was at my aunts house helping her yesterday. She had be put a little but of wood in a burn pile out back. I think its the landlords pile. She lives in a trailer park. I'm afraid that the pile isn't going to be checked for animals before its burned. Is it my response to make sure it is?

It would be the humane thing to do but maybe not your responsibility.
Are you thinking of xhecking for any other bonfires in your neihgborhood
No, how could it possibly be?
I always check before burning garden waste.
Checking it is one thing, having it as one's responsibility is another. The OP doesn't own or rent the house or the land.
If it doesn't cause a problem to do this, then go ahead. It isn't your responsivity but if it makes you feel better, then do it if you can.
I thought your aunt's landlord was going to burn down her whole house, never mind a pile in the yard.
