Can anyone help me with this? In the Summer I received a Next catalogue through the post which I am not aware of ordering. Today I have received an invoice for £3.75 and just wondered if you have to specifically order the catalogue or could I inadvertently have ordered one by not ticking a box or something when purchasing on line? Any advice would be much appreciated.

I've not long since placed my first online order with Next.

At the checkout there was a little box to tick to order a catalogue but it was free - some sort of offer.

Could you have ticked a box in error? Maybe mistaking it for one of the daft "do you agree to the terms and conditions" boxes that nobody reads and everybody ticks?
I too received one unasked about three years ago. Ignored the invoice, heard nothing since.
They have a bloomin' nerve charging for a catalogue anyway.

And they are enormous, big, hardbacked monstrosities.
You have to opt out from receiving them, at £3.75 I don't mind so much because my little girl uses them to collage and create fashion books etc. - She's seven, wants to be a designer.. But if they're not being used then it's a bit of a waste of money.. Autumn/Winter, Spring/Summer, Christmas Special..
What next?
Had one a couple of years ago. Just ignore it,it was unsolicited.
I've had them free, but had an e-mail informing me the next one would cost £3.75. There were phone and pin numbers to cancel the catalogue. It was no problem to do this.

"The Next Directory will be sent to you twice a year while you remain an active customer of Next Directory. You will be charged £3.75 for this and each subsequent season that you receive a copy of the Next Directory. The charge for your Directory covers the Main Directory for that season, and all mid-season brochures, or other publications that we may send to you that season. Under this introductory offer, the charge for your first Directory will be refunded to your account once you have placed your first order. We will notify you before we send any additional publication allowing you the opportunity to cancel it. If you decide not to place an order, you will be charged £3.75 for your first Next Directory"

Thanks all for your help. Looks like I shall have to close my account as I am not prepared to pay £3.75 for a Next Directory which is a shame for Next as now I shall not be putting any more orders on line.
I don't understand why you will no longer shop online with them just because they billed you for a catalogue. It wasn't really their fault that you didn't read the terms as detailed by buenchico.

Hi Chickadee, when I placed the order on line there were no terms as detailed by Buenchico.
I think this is their way to sell their catalogue even without your permission. They will offer it for free at first but then you'll be charged for the succeeding issues. Might as well opt out yourself manually from the site and delete all your payment options. Inform your card provider too that you won't be honoring charges from the website/company from now on.
