no personal experience I am afraid but as no one else is responding, here's a website to start you off. The other source of info would be your local council

It is a heartbreaking and wonderful experience.  My mother fostered many children and they are all still part of the family and they are in their 50's now.  All looked on as genuine brothers and sisters.  Go for it, but prepare for a lot of pain but a lot of love.
I am a foster carer with 2 negative experiences and my mum is also a foster carer with more experienc than myself but more positive too.Despite my experience I would still reccommend it!However some warnings..... giving my phone number and address to the childs family was encouraged (for phone calls ,letters etc.)and I will never do it again as it leaves you vulnerable.Choose your age group carefully...most of the children are emotionally damaged(sad fact but true) and the risks to yourself/family become greater with age.I have heard many positive stories from other carers and you should make relationships with other carers for support. It is a noble job and rewardingbut the biggest thing i can say is remember to put yourself/family first as it is easy to get sucked into the childs problems and not want to give up on them but your own well being must come first.(probably the cause of my negative experience was NOT doing that one thing)good luck
