Just wanted to share this with all you animal lovers

Got 3 different families of ducks living in the moat outside our house, and they have all had babies! 10 little fluffy ones in all

Think two of the Mums are from the babies I fed last year and have come back with their babies as I recognised one of them (she is slightly odd coloured).

Got woken last night by huge amounts of quacking so something was scaring them so shot out to scare off the fox .... The babies are so tiny!

One got eaten by a fox last week - the mother only had one baby and lost it to the fox and was so distraught.... quacking up and down looking for it.

Its quite nice being woken up by quacking each morning. Husband said that what with that and the owl its like living on Old Macdonalds Farm!!!

You lucky, lucky person. Sadly it wouldn't work with us - our moggies would see to that!

Enjoy the little fluffy souls!

Well Harvey Pickle Pants has been quite good so far - though 2 years ago he did catch one female.. and she nearly took off in flight with him hanging on in her eagerness to get away! Luckily she did. I would feel so bad if he caught and killed a duck!
They are so sweet!!!

Last year the brood I was feeding had this one odd coloured baby (which has come back this year), and everytime I went outside they would be waiting and the odd coloured one would waddle in the water with excitement at being fed!!!! Making little quacking noises. Very funny.
Just wish the foxes would catch them!!!
Mother Nature eh!!
Are you the MP who appeared on News recently claiming for a Moat !!!!!! LOL Nosha123.
It's wonderful to see Nature thriving at this time of Year and being able to wake up each day and enjoy sights such as this is Priceless. What part of the UK are you at Noshia ?

Ha ha.. dont get me started on the MP's!!! Leave me furious!!!
The Moat we have is full of dirty water - which the ducks dont seem to mind.. but when I freed some frogs into it they all keeled over in 30 seconds and dropped dead! How bad did I feel that day!!!!
Maybe I'll put in a claim to the GVMT to get the moat cleaned!!!

I am in Surrey.. and its very sunny right now - and we are so lucky to have wild deer, rabbits, hedgehogs, herons and ducks - yet am just a 5 minute walk from the nearest town...

Husband is a little annoyed about the noise the ducks and owl and foxed all make each night!!! I use earplugs!!
I live in a city centre but to be honest Perth city centre is more like a little village compared to some cities. But all I see are the usual cats, dogs and birds.

A few years ago I saw a traffic warden 'escorting' mummy duck and offspring towards the pond in the park - (heaven knows where she gave birth). Duckling are just so cute and cuddly.

I envy you and so do my two feline monsters.

AAh bless. thats a nice story WOlf... Did you see the one in the news last week in America!!!! THAT WAS AMAZING!!!! Just hope the Duck doesnt nest there agin next year!!!

Owls hooting and Ducks quacking is a small price to pay for country living as it's peace on earth compared to those who live in City Ghettos where there is no escape from all the modern day problems. Bird watching was a big hobby of mine years ago until I realised as I got older that there were other 'birds' around who did not have feathers!!!
It's nice to have both LOL

ha ha Redman!! I'm not particulrarly into birds of either kind actually... I mean I like the ducks.. but actually have a phobia of Chickens.. especially cockerals!!!
Frighten the B'Jeesus out of me!!!
redman - all birds look the same to me. But my cat sits at the window watching the pigeons squabbling and swooping around.

That said - I'm off to eat my chicken salad. ;-)
Nosha doesn't like Chickens especially Cockerels so you won' get a telling off for eating a chicken salad ! LOL

OOh I love a bit of chicken salad!!! Chuck on some Caesar sauce!!!
We have ducklings from the pond in the village and mum frequently brings them into the bottom of our garden.

I must have the dopiest dog in the world he lays down and watches them but if I go inside he followes think he's scared of them.
