I will be going on Maternity leave in May and will still have holiday owing to me for this year.

Does anyone know if my employer will be obliged to pay this holiday pay to me during my leave, along with wages?

I can only answer for my workplace, who had to accrue my leave, and I added it to the end of my maternity. Our company police is that you cannot carry more than 5 leave days into the next leave year, but this rule is excepted in the case of maternity leave and so I managed to take 15days leave (3 weeks) on the end of my maternity.
