I'm (finally) in my 12th week this week (yay) and I've had really awful hayfever over the last week and, of course, you cant take over the counter stuff for it. Has anyone been to the docs for anything for it or is it just tough luck??

sorry lollyone, antihistamines are not advised.

Have you tried the vaseline type stuff that you put under nostrils? that may help.

speak to your local pharmacist.
Hey Lollyone, 12 weeks already! on a diff note but in reply to our other thread,Im still on with the clomid, although Im on cycle day 32 at the min and no sign of period even though I feel like its coming. Havnt had any results from Hospital yet so not sure what is happening. Must be a nightmare for you having hayfever, I too get it really bad, my eyes are swelled and really sore, I have been taking tablets and useing eye drops very reluctantly "just incase" obviously as soon as I find out if I am pregnant I will stop, but I keep wondering well what if I am and Im doing more harm then good, mind you keep thinking that with most things lol . If no sign of no period by the weekend I think Im going to do a test but I think I will just be dissapointed :-(
this is advertised on this page as drug free hayfever relief

don't know if it works but if you're really struggling it might be worth the money to try

Thank you redcrx and happy face. I'll hve to look into both of those I di go to Docs yesterday but she couldnt find anything other than an anti-nausea drug that contains a little of the stuff in hayfever relief (not antihistamines) she said its what they give to pregnant women with the really severe form of morning sickness but I'm really wary of it. Its been much better since the weather changed though anyway!! Thanks again.

Hi sparker! Good to hear from you! It does sound like a good sign if you're on day 32! I also felt like I was going to come on at that stage and still did for a few weeks after to be honest so fingers and toes crossed for you. I was also convinced that the test would be neg and didnt even tel Hubby I was doing it! I just snuck off and came back screaming!! Did you get to day 32 in youre last cycle?? I really hope it works out. Let me know how you get on. L x
Day 33 lol and still no sign of a period, fingers crossed eh!! I think the last time I went about 16 days! But as my periods were all over the place I just had to start taking the clomid when I got them instead of waiting for my next perios to start them,so I dont think the first lot really counted.I have the tests all ready to do but I keep thinking, right I will do it in the morning, then when the morning comes I think oohh, I will leave it another few days lol. I do feel like a period is on it way, but saying that has done for about 2 weeks now but nothing has happened. All the signs look good but Im not getting excited yet as I know what my luck is like!!have you had any morning sickness or anything yet?you must be coming up for first scan soon???? Sarah x x

sparker, I was exactly the same!!! I kept putting off the tests cos I was sure it would be negative and I would be disapointed again.
I also didnt wait for a period as I could've been still waiting now!
Yeah, I've had really bad sickness that seems to have got a little better over the past week. For the first 7 weeks it was 24 hour nausea and sickness. Then coupled with the hayfever over last few weeks! It will all be worth it though. Yeah we have our scan on wed when I think I should be 12 weeks exactly but the scan might say otherwise.
Can I get excited for you instead then?!
Let me know how you get on, You should def do the test first thing in the morning. I always got a darker line then (out of the 30 or so tests that I did!!) Good luck chick.

Well still no sign of a period but im sure its on it way :-( I havnt done a test yet, giving it a bit longer hahahaha!!I just dont want to keep being disappointed,I think you will hear me screaming when I finally get to the positive test result stage, I will be a bit excited haha! I will get there one day.
How has your hayfever been, mine has been terrible, my eyes are really sore and it was 4am before I finally settled to go to sleep this morning, then before long it was time to get up again. I really do feel for you as you cant really take anything when pregnant, I would be going insane with how bad mine gets. x
I have been haing local honey for my hayfever for 2 years now and it has cured my hayfever.

I have really bad hayfever and took every dug possible that the doctor would give me, I am allergic to all pollens and suffer from March through to October and since I have been having honey every day I have not suffered at all. All through my pregnancy and now I am breast feeding my 6 week oId daughter I still have no signs of Hayfever unless I experience pollen in a different area. I am off to the Zoo on Sunday and I just know that all that animal hair will set it off
i am an acupuncturist and invented the Qu-chi acupressure band to relieve the symptoms of hayfever and allergic rhinitis. i noticed that someone had recommended another acupressure product earlier, unfortunately neither my product nor the other is recommended to be used during pregnancy.
i do find that acupuncture can help or maybe putting vaseline under your nostrils.
