Hi all,

i'd like to get a little gift for the midwife that was looking after me during my pregnancy (actually there were 2 midwives that did me proud and would like to get them something) and also the lady that delivered my baby at the hospital. I was thinking of calling the ward and seeing if anyone knew the midwife that delivered me and could suggest anything but do any of you have any ideas. don't really want to do the flowers/chocolate thing because chances are they'll just wilt on the ward and chocolates aren't necessarily everyone's cup of tea..... any advice would be greatly appreciated. I wouldn't go for anything too expensive, how about some posh biccies, dont know anyone who would refuse biccies!

As for the midwife that delivered my baby, well I was tempted give her a smack!!!!!! She was the one on the phone (twice) who told me to have two paracetemol, take a hot bath and go to bed. that was at 5.15 and 5.30 am, the piglet arrived at 7.41 am, so no biccies for her!
How about those Willow Tree figurines? There's a huge collection, and they're pretty.

Ha ha. there was a few women that i did have contact with during my labour and i would have gladly smacked them!! one woman was so abrupt with me it was untrue. but thankfully the lady that delivered us was absolutely superb and considering she was newly qualified (my birth was her 15th) she was amazing, a real credit to her profession.
