Welcome to the world baby-nat and welcome to motherhood Nat its a beautiful place to be

Red xxxxxxxx
Congrats to nat xxx
thanks so much everyone for your kind words and support.im over the moon! shes a beautiful and well behaved baby...although i wont speak too soon!

on the only downside, i lay in hospital with baby Mia laying across me, after a fairly dramatic birth for both me and baby. as i was induced and an epidural was apparently nessary as the drip bought on contractions harder and faster-so i had that done after about an hour of feeling them! the sooner the beter was my opinion at this stage.

i went into labour at about 4.30am and baby was born at 16.55 using forceps, so she has a few marks across her head. the birth was more dramatic than even the midwife expected.

she came down the birth canal amazigly without one hitch or change in her heartbeat-which is apparently rare but her hand was up by her face when i was trying to push her out and she was bigger nd longer than expected. i had quite severe blood loss and was at the point of collapse about an hour after the birth.

and i thought my dignity would stay in tact but there i was sitting completely starkers, sweating like a mad woman on speed, trying to stand up at the edge of my bed!! my midwife was brill, she was only 23 and we just sat and gossiped about men etc when notes were completed.

cont...
ok so i know ive not exactly explaned anythig in order but back to the birth, i didnt have an epidural top up at 10cm because we all thought it would be easier to feel the contractions during the birth to speed up the process but as i said earlier the complications threw all plans out the window and i ended up having a suction cup which came off the baby's peanut and eventually forceps were used to pull my little miracle out.

unfortunately i was told this afternoon that my blood loss was a lot more than originally thought so i'm waiting for a blood transfusion tonight.

but i'll be fine and can't wait to get home. thanks again for all your support throughout my amazing journey.

lots of love Nat, Karl and the baby angel Mia xxx
What a fantastic experience for you, you brave girl! I'm sure you will be up and kicking in no time. :O)

wish you all the luck in the world. big kisses to you all xxxx
nat congrats again on baby Mia, I was pestering Claire for updates yesterday and she texted me this morning with the news! By the time you read this it'll be over and you 'll hopefully be at home with Karl and Mia. Hope the transfusion goes ok, it's not a nice experience at all, I had to have one when my son was born in March but I only found out I needed one on the morning I was expecting to go home so had to stay in hospital 4 long days instead of 3.
Your labour sounded very much like mine expect I wasnt overdue and I ended up having a c-section!
Enjoy every moment with Mia, Ethan is now 5 months old and the time really does fly by!
Get some pics up soon! xxx
Congratulations to the new parents and welcome baby Mia! I've been reading all the posts to see have you've got on. So glad she's here safe and sound. Enjoy being a Mummy - it's FAB! Love Picky, Mr Picky and Baby Picky xxxx
