I only know bits:

he was a delicate mite...........the mother was poor, the baby was thin...........

not much to go on i know!

I remember the Cream version too.
I think Ginger Baker sang the song, and I think he sang,"...'twas nought but a skelington covered with skin .." Quite a few people actually say 'skelington' when they mean 'skeleton'. Probably the same people who say 'chimley' for 'chimney' and 'brought' instead of 'bought'.
