I think this problem is more common amongst boys than girls, it seems to take them a bit longer to get in control of their bladders.

This may just be something he'll grow out of, but if you're concerned, take him to see your GP, just to check there isn't a physical problem. Try also not to make a big issue of it, as the more attention drawn to it, may make him more anxious and worsen the situation.

Have you perhaps tried those nightime pull up pants, which should help cut down on the amount of soiling to the bed and bed clothes?

he wont do the pull up pants as he is a big boy lol. he has been dry at night for over 12 months and i just dont know why he has started wetting the bed now.he has had some change in his life which i have been told might be the cause of it, but if it is, how do i get him bk to normal again
It's a difficult one. Perhaps you need to sit down and discuss any worries he might have, if you haven't already done so.

Possibly this new occurrence is attention seeking, as you say he knows he's doing it. Try not to react when he does it, as this could be fueling his desire for attention.

Try using a waterproof sheet on the matress, but definitely speak to your GP about this, if things don't improve.
did you wet the bed as a child??

sometimes its just in the genes!! seriously i never wet the bed and my daughter never wet the bed,

but my older sister did till she was about 10 and strangly enough her son does to, well he has stopped now but did till he was 9-10 as well,

she wouldnt give him anything to drink before bed but he would constantly have accidents.

sometimes its just a case of passing these things down, did the father wet the bed???
there could be a reason behind it but if you cant find one, dont worry too much, i know its a pain, i remember from when i used to look after my nephew!!

you can get special sheets for the bed, id try and encourage pull ups though, he is still young and saves him getting up all smelly in his jarmies

good luck xxx
