I have newish neighbours; they've been there about a month. Married couple with 2 children - girl, 2-ish & another about 9 months. (Don't know it's gender.)
Anyway, this couple, although mainly the wife as he's at work, verbally abuse the children. It's ""f**k off Evontay," (the 2yo name) or "I f**king told you to **** off." And more. And it's frequent & as it's summer the windows are open! Doesn't seem to be anything else untoward going on.
What to do, if anything?

I'd keep out of it at least until they start p1ssing on your chips.
it's summer?
Yeah, been there a month and it's summer!

Re the problem tho if you are that concerned tell social services - swearing at the kids may be the least of it.

Agree with Postdog. If they talk like that to an 2yo, there is bound to be other unsocial issues. Tread carefully.

They need reporting, if only for giving that name to a kid :-)
I'd stomach that for a bit of sunshine.

Where are you?
She obviously doesn't want the kids. An anonymous report to Social Services might just get them to f off for her.

Where I live if you were a teacher, doctor or other profession that worked with children you would be obliged to report the matter.

It's the attitude of "not wanting to cause a fuss" or "it's none of my business" or "I'd better do it anonymously" that enables "breeders", (I don't call them parents) to do these sorts of things to the children. In the worst case scenario, a child dies.
Why not say loudly over the fence, "Please stop abusing your child or I'll report you."? Or immediately report any abuse? We MUST stop burying our heads in the sand. Who cares if the breeders who abused their child & had it taken off them knows you reported them? Abuse from them is far better than them abusing the children.
I need to take a leaf out of my own book & follow my own advice!
Yes, report the woman to the police or speak to somebody at citizens advice bereau so that they will put you in touch with the relevant auhtority.
