does a residencey state that thye children have to stay there till they are 16

a child can legally leave a care home at sixteen as i did years ago, but hopefully they will be adopted or fostered long before that age.

kids can also legally leave their own home at sixteen too
Are you talking about a residency order your ex wife/girlfriend has? in which case, you can go back to court at any time and apply for change if you wish.

Apparently a child can state (legally) where they wish to live when they are around 12 years old.

i had residance the girls went to stat with there mum for summer holiday contact there mother decided not to return the girl on first court hearing the judge decided the girls could remain with there mother.
te girls mother is now being obstructive towards me visiting the girls
i now understand children can decide were they wish to live with the other parent despite there ages as the girls are 10 and 13
i strongle feel the family court have handle this case all wrong moving them from essex to cheshire on the mothers wishes.when the children have only lived and been to school in essex
