Epi Pen, Epi Pen Jr. and Anaphylaxis I have been on a brief course about how to use an Epipen for allergic reactions. What I have forgotten is : you have to inject in the muscle between the knees and thigh and if this does not work repeat on the other leg. Can anyone tell me, when it goes into the muscle what it does? I just cant remember what my tutor said. Thanks

It just releases a measured dose of adrenalin in to the muscle.
I should go on a course like that, I have to carry one in case I get stung by a wasp or bee. I also have a severe allergy to penicillin.

I have one on repeat prescription but haven't got a clue what do with it properly and keep forgetting to ask my doctor.

A bit stupid of me really because if I get stung etc I'm toast.

Thanks for the info.

You must see a doctor to explain how to use it/ or ring up.

It is very important.

Each individual who is given one must be shown how to use one and explained why?

Please do contact your doctor.
spurslady - i have one too and it has instructions for use printed on the side. Check to see if yours does, I'm sure it probabaly will.
