How are people getting on with the no yelling then?
I have to admit to a couple of slips, my fault though. Saying that, the fact that I have been trying hard does mean the atmosphere in the house is better, already!
My son breaks up for his summer holidays tomorrow eeek, so this will be a big test lol.

I am sooooo proud of myself!! Apart from this morning when I had a little rant as I was trying to 10 things at once before I had to leave the house and he kept asking me question after question,I have been so patient, listening to him more, getting him involved in everything, even helping with dinner, and he has been a different child!!
MyCats I'm so envious your child is breaking up tomorrow, mine doesn't finish until the end of July. Although I work part time Mr Hellion teaches and is at home during hols and I just love the laid back atmosphere that comes over the house during school holidays.
So glad the No Yelling is working - isn't it kind of annoying when the TV experts are right!
Ever since my son was small we've always done 'Kiss and Make Up' when things have got heated and I always say to him 'I love you even when I'm cross with you' and we actually have a pretty calm relationship - even when things do get heated we patch it up very quickly.
Keep up the good work.
Hello everyone!
Well...i have figured that if i keep as calm as poss...even if i feel like im at boiling point...and speak all sweetness and light it seems to have an effect on my 8 yr old!
Mind you last Friday i did go a little bit beserk at him...after i had slogged my guts out cleaning the house..he was cleaning his teeth in my sparkling clean bvathroom when he came along and rinsed his mouth out all over the taps! i looked in horror and couldnt not but yell!!
I dont think he will make the same mistake again :o)
On the whole im really pleased with my efforts of not yelling, and i agree with you mycats as the home is a much happier place...what it should be and not a war zone!
Holidays are hell mycats! and we must carry on and try really hard not to yell!...ooh i didnt realise i was a poet! hehehe. My boy doent break up till mid july so i still have a few weeks of peace left!

So has anyone actually got any ideas what we can do with the little er angels over the summer ? lol
lol Mycats.Well there is swimming,picnics,beach,park,zoo,.....erm....
Question Author
lol maybe I should have mentioned I dont actually have any money!
Well, we started the week quite well, but the last 2 days have been a nightmare - my son has decided that he wants to be carried everywhere rather than walk - and if you don't give in...........he lies down...right in the middle of the street/shop etc. So I've lost my temper at least 20 times!

It is sooo hard!!!

He's still not sleeping very well either - but I've kinda given up on that for the time being - hopefully he will just fall into a natural routine when he starts nursery!

MYCATS - the beach, parks and picnics are probably your best bet or you could arrange for play days with friends and swap houses & take turns to make lunch for everyone!

A xXx
