Well there was a diesel in home and away,a little while back, though spelt different,i like something a bit out of the ordinary so i like it.!!!
If he tries to drive a petrol car when he's older it will ruin the engine and cost a lot to fix.

yer see thats what im saying lol he will get things like that all his life!!!
I suppose its better than being called DERV
I like that name. Its unique...

Whats the second name?
I prefer DERV actually! Though I believe everyone names their child because they think it's a great name and they love it, and that's a good enough reason for me. When I had my son 14 years ago The girl in the next bed asked me his name, I replied "Max" and (so rudely) she screwed her nose up and said "Thats a dogs name!" (obviously sensitive to my postnatal needs) so I asked what she had called her daughter, and she said Rebecca, I couldn't help it but I said, oh I've got a rabbit called Rebecca! I didn't have but just wanted to put her on the spot. He loves his name and so do others, he's dead cool, as I'm sure Diesel or Derv will be.
Well apparently when I was born the woman in the next bed to my mother called her baby 'Cinderella' .. so she is out there somewhere !! I think Diesel is awful, sorry .... he will be teased relentlessly as school
it seems to me that more and more these days parents are striving for more outlandish, bizarre and downright stupid names for their children. I just don't get it. Its either a rather lame attempt to mimic the way that media stars name their children, or the parents actually do beleive that by giving their child a unique name then they are instantly 'individual'.
My son unleaded doesnt think there is any problem with the name Diesel

I love unusual names, truangel. I think Diesel is really nice.

I've got a list of all the unusual names I like, that I hear around, and I'm not planning on having a baby for years. x

Diesel might have been in Home & Away but he is also one of the naughty trains in Thomas the Tank Engine.

What are they gonna call his brothers / sisters? Muck? Zebedee? The Moog?

The cat that comes into the cemetery where I work is called Diesel!!!!Not appropriate, but it did'nt do Vin Diesel any harm!!
YUK - poor child.
Sorry, I think it's a terrible "name" to saddle a child with, imagine when he's 50! I really can't see the point of lumbering a child with a ridiculous moniker that's not even a proper name when there are so many beautiful real names out there. Diesel is a type of fuel not a boy's name, she might as well call him sausage or teabag etc etc!!!
well i guess its just as chav really as armani but cheaper!
Yeah, what about something OLD like um,,,,Frank or william or harold or something?
I didn't think it was too bad ~ however my sister has named her staffordshire bull terrier Diesel so I now feel it is more of a pets name..& yes, a bit chav ;o)

Sorry, but that is an awful name. Just like the girl in the cafe I overheard the other day who's child (a girl) was called Star. You have a better chance of getting away with unusual names if you are the child of a celeb but your everyday man or woman trying to get on in life would find it a huge weight to carry.

Imagine filling out a job application, or being 70 & grandad Diesel, it's just not right.

I dont like it but its her choice. I do believe it has become fashionable to pick weird/strange/hardly used names to stand out, what parents need to ask though is are their children going to stand out for the right reasons. The 'wrong' name could cost your child years of bullying - kids can be cruel as I am sure most of us know.
If he is born next month will he be an APRIL FUEL
