Have you thought of reporting the teacher to the headmaster/headmistress? If not i would report them for bullying if nothing is done you can go higher to the education board.

Hope this helps

Get your parents (unless you are the parent) to phone the school and speak to the teacher. Threaten him/her with a letter to your local Civic Centre. Worked at my school.

Report the teacher to the local education authority.

Get your solicitor to write to the headteacher putting him/her on notice of the bullying & that you are considering potentail legal action. Sadly these days it is only the threat of legal action that will actually get schools to take this sort of thing seriously.

I would also ask the Headmaster/mistress who the school governors are and write to them all individually, giving a deadline by which you want action taken.

Do not under any circumstances write to each govorner individually!!

Write only to the Chair of Governors because the Governing Body will have a Personnel committee who will look into it for you and then make a decision. If you do not agree with that you can then appeal that decision to an appeals committee made up of governors not associated with the origional decision.

If you write to all the governors in the first place you will "contaminate" them all and they will be unable to look into your complaint.

Good luck if you proceed but be prepared for a rough time.

What exactly do you mean by bullying?

my 13 year old son went into his lesson, sat down and was taking his coat off.....(not late or anything) when the teacher shouted at him to get out of the class so naturally my son asked why at which the teacher carried on telling him to get out, when my son continued to question this the teacher told him that as he had not done as he had been told and got out he was going to get him excluded, my son left the classroom and went to find another member of staff to try and explain what had happened, my son came home extremely upset but when i rang the school to find out what had happened the only thing the teacher had entered onto the computer system was that my son had "absconded" from the lesson.

When i contacted the school again to see what had been done they told me that the teacher sent his apologies but as it had been a very noisy class he had singled out my son to " make his point"

since then there has been a nasty rumour circulating the school about my son which appears to have stemmed from this teacher but when i contacted the school about it they suggested moving my son away from this teacher but personally i feel that it needs looking into a bit more seriously.

hi lorraine, ive had a problem too with my 9 year old son who is no angel but because of this gets blame of everything. his headteacher had started to get at him for almost everything..even for taking water from a fountain. i basically let it go for a few months thinking it would go away, then last week i called unexpectedly at 9am, caught her unaware and challenged her big time. as a trainer in cust service, confidence, self esteem etc, i really used my training and finished off by warning her basically. my son says she is bending over backwards now to be nice to him...parents night soon!! lets see what happens...ps..i have also asked for my son to be present at parents night to allow him to tell the teachers what he feels and thinks, this is important. good luck

I got bullied relentlessly by an R.E. teacher at my school. She used to talk about me to her form believe it or not. Turns out she didnt like the fact that my mum new her husband and had said something along the lines of if she is anything like her mother to teach she must be gem. She took her jealousy out on me. My mum phoned the school after i was getting bad reports etc, they took it really seriously. I had to go to a meeting where she had to apologise to me.

I was chuffed to hear many years later that they sacked her when they found out she was drunk at school a lot.

My son has had something similar we've been to see the head who obviously backed his teacher and said about how wonderful a teacher he his.At parents evening as our appointment came round he vanished from the hall and never came back, its eased off now but i want answers and its soon parents evening again,,,,!
A difficult one to answer. IMHO children don't always own up completely to incidents at school. You have several choices
Ask to speak to teacher about the incident
Ask to speak to a head of year
Ask to speak to the head teacher
Write to the chair of Govenors
Make sure at every stage you are honest about why you are contacting the personnel involved, and try to include your child in all the discussions.
Good luck
We have just had to complain to the head teacher about one of our daughters sixth form teachers. It is now a formal inquiry. It seems that anyone he doesn't like is neglected in class and encouraged to leave and has done it before. Turns out he has been claiming that no homework has been handed in, until we produced the marked papers. He predicted her grade down to the lowest level. She enjoys the subject and should be doing well. Make your complain to the headteacher in the first instance.
