OH had yet another appointment today regarding his cochlea ear implant.
It was at another hospital in Bristol, this is the third different one we have been to, absolutely enormous. So large they provide a buggy thing that transports you the .75 of a mile along the main corridor, that was a god send.
He was wired up to all sorts of different places on his head and in his ears.
Then he was told it would be helpful if he dozed off, as they need him to be perfectly relaxed. He did manage that, but then he can drop off so easily.
After half an hour they woke him up. He has another appointment in November when he will be in front of a whole panel who will decide if he qualifies. I asked if his age would count against him but doctor said no, they have fitted 95 year olds before now. So fingers crossed he may get sorted out.

Why a panel to decide, I would have thought that the tests would tell all.
Best of luck I hope he gets the implants.
I do hope so Caran, would be marvellous.

I think the panel is made up of all the different people he has seen. He has had 4/5 different appointments at different hospitals so everyone has to put their viewpoint in.
Ah I see now, Caran.

Mamya it really would. On the journey down I tried to tell him some quite trivial really. It was just."in the local paper 2 cars crashed into an office on the high street in town"
It felt like it took 5 minutes before he got it. It is so frustrating for both of us. I feel so sorry for him sometimes as when we are out with friends he feels so excluded.
