And i mean, follows me around the house, inches from my **rse! Sounds trivial, but its driving me absolutely crazy. It makes me feel claustrophobic. Also, i keep tripping over her everytime i walk in and out of a room. I end up losing the plot and shouting at her, but she doesnt seem to realise what it is shes doing wrong. I can't exactly tell her off 4 it can I.

Does anyone else have this problem... do they grow out of this following phase? If so, WHEN!!

I do have this problem. Little darling nips at me heels like the Queen's corgis. I hope she will grow out of it!

I've got this stage yet to come!

But I did read somewhere that at appoximately 3 years of age a child goes through insecurities and is constantly 'panicking' if mummy or daddy aint around, so therefore they follow you around seeking reassurance that you aint gonna bu88er off for good!

Apparently they do grow out of it pretty quickly (if that's any consolation :-)

Grin and bear it.......lol

yes they do grow out of it,thankfully.Mind you i still cant have a bath in peace,my 2 are 11 and nearly 6 yrs.

Oh I remember it well..!! It got to me so much that one day my bf walked in & I walked out mumbling I just need 5 mins..
Do you take her to playgroup/nursery ? Is she the same when she's there ?

Same as Isie I still get followed everywhere, but not to the same extent..

There's a lot of similarity in dog training and child training. You can google for "separation anxiety" to get ideas, but the basic idea is to get her to spend very short amounts of time alone doing something interesting and then reward her. So it might go something like "I'd like you to sit here and look at your new colouring book while I fill the kettle, then we can choose some colours together". Then gradually increase the time, but she will have to have a defined "task" to do and a good time with you afterwards.

One thing that helped my son was when I told him what I was going to be doing for the two or three minutes I was away - putting away the washing etc.

Good luck.

Yep, that sounds just like mine. Mostly I manage because

I know its a phase and will pass.

I've come to the conclusion not to expect much less.

I take opportunities for other people to have him.

There are times when I feel I could throw him out of the window, especially when I've got to do something and he's hindering me.

Hang on it will soon be over.

Just be greatful they are following you around. I f anything were to happen to them you would wish they could be following you. Dont take them for granted and enjoy every second you get with them.
I had to laugh when I read this as I've lost count of the times our daughter has been knocked off her feet when myself or my wife turn around. It also seems to be every time we are in the kitchen she comes in and starts moaning for something to eat as well. Also we can't sit on the settee without her clambering up for a cuddle , or getting her climbing into our bed at night. The way we look at it though is to enjoy it while it lasts before she gets all older and dosen't want to spend any time with us.
