I have a male friend who is spending some time with his father but says he is unable to bond with him, and is only talking on a superficial level, which is upsetting him - any suggestions on how he can deepen the bond?

dont force it, the more u try to make it work the harder it is to succeed.

Find out the sort of things u both like such as fishing or golf or something that u can do together and just chat like friends, thats how most father sons are, more like friends!

It's a good start talking on a superficial level - how can you talk deep and meaningfully if you can't talk about trivia?

A weekend away doing a mutual man thing would definitely work!
