so does my cousin here in Belfast - I don't use much milk otherwise I would chase him - nothing like milk in a bottle.
I have a milkman and the milk comes in glass bottles, and the fresh orange juice.

There is one comes along our road, calls at about 5 houses and never 'til late morning, so it's the S'market for us!
Memories of days gone by I remember the lids on frosty mornings expanding and lifting or being pecked at by birdsunfortunately nowadays cheaper in supermarkets, although handy in remoter areas.
Our milkman delivers at 5am, sometimes earlier.
But of course! Dairy Crest deliver in my area. Loa of different things, juice, eggs cheese. Can't do a link but try www.milkandmore.co.uk
Yes, same as Daisy, dairy crest. I keep him on because he's a nice man, been coming for years and it means I'm never stuck for essentials if I've not been well & haven't been out for a few days. They have so many products available and they don't always cost more than my local shops.
Eeek. They charge £2.09 for 4 pints semi skinned, I pay around £1.60 for 6 pints.
hc do you have to walk half a mile to the shop then walk home carrying that lot?
I only use a pint a week
We live in a fairly isolated location, milkman comes (without fail!) at about 5.30 am 3 days/week, he's the one who's going to spot if there's anything wrong here, like milk not collected, curtains not pulled back etc. Well worth what he charges for his fresh farm milk if he spots anything amiss.
Would you belive we have street lights, TVs, Tarmac on the road up here Clary? the flat caps have gone now. lol

TWR it wasn't meant in a nasty way , I'm jealous!! Would save me having to have my breakfast cappuccino with dried milk because son drank all the milk the night before.
Good point corylus, can't put a price on safety or peace of mind.
No offence taken Clarys lol x
Sister in Yeovil, Somerset gets her semi-skimmed in bottles.
We've just stopped having our milk delivered by a milkman. He used to bring the newspaper too. We can't justify the expense now that we've retired. Milk in the supermarket is FAR FAR cheaper.
Yes, I have a milkman. He delivers milk, soya milk, cheese, bread, eggs, biscuits - lots of things. Some have to be ordered but he carries some things all the time. I would not like to be without him as we have no corner shop nearby. I think you may have to pay a bit more for having the goods delivered, but I do not care, he is invaluable.
we still have a milk man (woman actually) I am in berkshire
