Have a Holy Communion to go to Sat, I've no idea what to buy the young girl. What kind of things do the shops sell for this event?!?

for my communion i mainly got jewellery, rosary beads, keepsake bibles and the best thing to a 8 year old 's...

sam82's right, but go into your local jewellers or china shop (they do ornaments and keepsakes for children as well as adults) and you should be able to find something. For instance, if she's into horses, you could buy her a nice horse ornament to keep in her bedroom. It's something she can keep and hopefully it will increase in value. In my local china shop there are lots of Winnie the Pooh ornaments, money boxes, etc.

Good luck.

Oh, and also at the nearest Sunday market to where I live, there is a man there who will decorate a glass (wine glass, beer glass, tumbler, whatever) with whatever you want on it and package it in a tissue-filled box with a cuddly toy of your choice; really sweet.

i just remembered 1 thing i got for my communion and its still on my bed... its a satin love heart shaped pillow  with frills it has my name and the date i made my communion is stitched onto it...

Prob being more than a tad pedantic here - but - do you mean a child's first communion as in the Catholic Church , or Cornfirmation as in Anglican Church?
I actually go to Holy Communion every week.

Something to keep with hopefully some religious meaning would be a lovely idea. If you are a gosparent maybe a Service Book would be appreciated.
