Sorry to hear about your problems dyli. I have no personal experience of what you describe, but if you contact Al Anon they have a support group for relatives of people with drink problems. They aren't just for addicts themselves. Please do give them a call.
I also feel for you too.  I think what ursula62 said is very useful.  Maybe consult your GP, they might know of some support groups within your area?  All the best.

I really do feel for you dyli795, but I don't have any personal experience either. If it were me though, I wouldn't hesitate in contacting Alcoholics Anonymous.

As ursula says, AA do have a support group, so all you need do is dial their number - there will be someone at the other end of the phone, ready to talk you through this. Good luck.

Parentline Plus, free 24-hour telephone helpline 0808 800 2222....confidential and anonymous, manned by parents. Website www.parentlineplus/org.uk .... also offers e-mail service if talking is difficult for whatever reason.
Thinking of you dyli - let's know how you get on.
I am alcoholic in recovery, part of my story is that i am also the daughter of an alcoholic.  My brother died at 29 from use of drugs and alcohol.  Although i go to Aloholics Anonymous I also go to Al Anon the group that the first person suggested.  I can recomend using them.   Being able to talk to people in the same position as yourself can be such a support. Good luck, make that phone call.
