Swede - unless you are Scottish........in which case it's a Neep (Turnip).
we've had this discussion before....

Even presented with scientific classifications some on here insisted they are all turnips... but you are right
Swedes are yellow and turnips are white
as jack says - unless you are Scottish and the opposite is true - in fact we would probably call them all turnips.
Yep, a swede.

The scots have just got it wrong!! ;o)
here we go...round two of the great turnip contest...
I love mashed swede with butter and black pepper. Whole big mounds of the stuff!! Pig food really.
swede or sweed ?
swede are smaller than turnips, turnips are yellow/orange
Swedes are yellow and orange and are bigger than white turnips!!

Bloomin' Scots!!
WHAT!! LOL.
Swedes are the yellow things you have with your haggis
It causes no end of bother for those of us in 'mixed-marriages'....LoL
Let me think here - who's national dish contains copious amounts of turnips? I think that would be us Scots, so if we say that it's turnip, then it's fecking turnip!!!
... or neeps
Doesn't really matter, they are both equally as good for weighting down your bin bags so they don't get blown away.
true euphemia.
I now want some mashed swede - not turnip - SWEDE, the orange one with brown skin, SWEDE.

Mutter, mutter mutter.....................
Both 'orrible, chuck 'em both in the bin, then never mention them ever again. That way you don't have to puzzle over this eternal conundrum.
but then what would you eat with your haggis B00?
