Family orientated place to live (S. Yorkshire/N. Nottinghamshire)

We are trying to find a small town or village to move to that is a commutable distance to Doncaster. We have two small children so would like somewhere that has a playground/park, playgroups and a primary school. Ideally a grocery shop, post office and some sort of eatery but we would prefer it not to be on a busy thoroughfare.

As we don't know the area all that well, it is difficult to know where to start looking! We would love some suggestions. Thank you.
