...on the phone. She reckons I spend too much time on my computer. I said I don't and she said that I did and it escalated into a full row. I know its a stupid argument over nothing but it's really got me riled.

Anyone have silly arguments with family members?

could she possibly be right? it's very easy to get defensive when you know they have a point!
Well at least you know why, Tig.....my sister doesn't speak to me at all and only very rarely to my brother and we really haven't a clue why....???
ps mums always know best and are unfortunately always right!
Does your Mum surf the net much herself, tiggs?

I think some might think I spend too much time online, but when you are at home with wee kids you don't have much scope to socialise and I enjoy a wee surf when the kids are napping.

I hope you'll manage to sort it all out.
your an adult, lil tigs is well im sure, and I believe you on your own, you could be doing worse things >
Yes, me and Mum had a row recently about how to care for my elderly dog! She thinks she knows better than me even though I'm the one with him 24/7. I hung up on her in the end, but as I love my Mum and she's not getting any younger, I rang back after 10 minutes and apologised (even though it wasn't my fault!).
Yes, I can do nothing right!

Well I do spend some time playing on king.com but I've got all my housework done today, and I just want to do my own thing whilst Little Tiggs is playing with his toys and watching cbeebies.

I don't think I'm on as much as she thinks I am.
My mother would sulk if things didn't go her way, she could sulk for a long time.

My dad said that computers were just a fad and wouldn't last.

Parents are hard work. I miss both of mine but in some ways life is simpler.

Funnily enough, she told me she has set up her own FB page today (she normally uses my dads)!

I think I got riled because I told her that I spend all week at work where I hardly get time to surf the net so weekends are computer time for, and she was still had a go.
Maybe she feels you could be playing with 'Little Tiggs' and educating him in someway rather than him having to play on his own. I many a time see a small child being ignored while their father/mother are texting on their phone etc and this over long periods of time. She might see that too when she's out and about and thinks all people of your age do the same. Just a thought....
Say, 'mum, you're probably right and I love you for looking out for me!'
I hate it when my children visit and try to talk to me while they are on their IPhone's texting or on-line, so rude and they stop when l tell them!

Its called RESPECT!!!!!!

I don't think my Mother ever appreciated the full potential of a computer and the Internet.

You can actually do useful stuff like order your weeks shopping and pay bills as well as faff-arse about playing games. I doubt many of my parents generation will ever get it!
when your on line 12/18 hours a day, then mum can complain. phone her back later because it will only annoy you both if you leave it too long,
Thats easy tiggs. phone up and tell her you are sorry.(Even if you think you havent done anything wrong) Life is too short.Just imagine how you would feel if anything happened to her and you hadnt made it up.

I don't think its that Coccinelle. She's always going on me about the housework. She says that I could be doing better tihings with my time like more housework. Well, I've done the basics and I just want to relax now. Its never good enough for her though!
Oh and to answer the sill argument question.....

Whilst driving over the Dartford Crossing on a particularly windy day my (non-driver) Mother cried.......'Look at me when I'm talking to you....!'
