Help!!
I have been invited to a wedding and have (on closer inspection of the invitation) found out that it has a medieval theme and if I don't appear in 'medieval attire' I will be put in the pillory!
Seriously though - it is on Saturday and I need some ideas about what to do for a medieval themed outfit - I've tried looking for fancy dress hire places near where I live (just outside SW London) and there doesn't seem to be much.
So .........??

I just googled,
'SW London, Medieval Costume Hire'
And got a few sites.
I'm sure dot could sort you out one of her dresses to wear

I'll get me cloak...I mean coat
Green tights - or is that something else I am thinking of. Wear a kilt - they have been around for centuries.
A whimple !!!!
Mediaeval peasant is probably easiest and cheapest.
Tights, tunic, belt, dirty face, carrying a sack. Knife in belt optional.
Tights not essential then could have bare feet.
Otherwise willies disguised as boots.
Daisynonna

Did you mean to type Willies ?
Nooo! Blame it on the heat. Could be quite amusing though!
I suppose ideally you'd be a lord at the very least

but a pesant outfit, as Daisynonna suggests, is probaby easier to do at home, especially if you've already got torn jeans.

Thanks for the answers so far - I'm inspired...
Ideally I'd like to go as a merry troubadour, but where am I going to get myself garbed up as one of those in an afternoon and a bit of a morning?!

...Brave Sir Robin ran away, he bravely ran away away. When danger reared its ugly head he bravely turned his tail and fled...brave Sir Robin turned about and gallantly he chickened out...bravely taking to his feet he bravely beat a brave retreat...
and don't forget the coconuts

I did think of that - but that would mean considering something like this...

tut, can't believe they're out of stock of renaissance maidens
Tunic with shirt underneath, remove collar. Tights. Tin whistle. Bling.
Seeing as you already look like Baldric you should stick to the peasant thing.

Ok - all sorted. I've hired a knight outfit and 'tweaked' it by making my own sword (the one supplied was a bit plasticky) they even threw in a hessian sack for me to keep my camera gear in as I didn't want to ruin the effect by carrying a modern shoulder bag!
Thanks again for the ideas.
