Previously we've been asked for a competitions category - a place where you can share competitions which have cropped up across the net (that you think might be of interest to us humble ABers).

So here it is!

Feel free to share competitions you've found, or are running yourself, right here.

Please include the Prize, Closing Date, Medium (i.e. Twitter, Facebook, Web) in the title.

Please also enter a description of the prize, a link to the submission page and the answer to the question body.

All the best,

Ed

I know we have a Quiz section , but this is not a charity one - Thanks to Fibonacci for pointing it out.

Details on entry on the link.

A good idea but it should come with a note of caution. In these days of aggressive marketing many competitions only exist as a means of gathering personal information, especially email addresses and telephone numbers; these are sold to marketing companies, so competition entrants run the risk of ending up with increased spam and unsolicited phone calls. It doesn’t happen all the time, but it does happen a lot and it’s something to be aware of.

anaxcrosswords - We'll get there. I'm working on some header/disclaimer stuff now :)
"It's new B00 - I think you're one of those who requested it previously :) "

you're a poet and didn't know it!

And...did I? Can't remember, can't think why I'd do that, but still, im sure i'll look in...twice yearly, lol.
Dear Ab Editor
I know this is perhaps not the right place to ask but I had an idea for another category under Music - one (can't think of a short, snappy title, sorry!) for anyone on here who is a musician. It might be for links to YouTube performances or questions about musical gear, forthcoming gigs etc etc - plenty of scope!
There are subsections under music which cover all those bases.

And basses.

and bassists.
Maybe a sub-section to Competitions could be Winners . . . .

Might do a sticky called "Look what I won!"
Surely we don't need this as well Ed !
What is wrong with Q&P Section ??
Ed, do you think it's time to put "crosswords" alphabetically in the topics list?
Has anyone on here ever won an Internet competition.
Question Author
The Q&P section is for quizzes and puzzles?

This is for competitions?

Sipowicz - I feel that time is looming.
giveup - With hundreds of online competitions always available, I am sure there are Abers who have won Internet competitions. My top win was a trip to South Africa for the 2010 FIFA World Cup Finals. Additionally my Internet 'haul' has reached 27 prizes. Prior to the Internet I has fortunate enough to win postal competitions regularly - incouding a budgie in a cage and a packetg of Trill.
give up - I am currently using a Kindle Fire, my printer, MacBook and iPod are all prizes from competitions. I have also won smaller items and a small amount of money (about £500 in total). I use one of the competition websites.

I enter text comps only if the prize is really good.
Why no topic under Media and TV for Soaps? So many soap threads and so many muppets who feel the need to say 'its not real' when we discuss story lines that it would be nice to have a separate place where we could discuss without interference!
I've just won the competion for the 20th posting in the new 'competions' 'category...wonderful!
